Why do we not have our own service facility ? Because times have moved on from when a chap in overalls with a decent set of spanners and a Haynes manual can carry out repair work to a specialist marque such as Porsche. On board diagnostics mean unless you have recently invested several thousands of pounds and are up to speed on current technical information you shouldn`t be even trying (though many do with varying degrees of success!) to tinker with the oily bits. By using a network of experienced specialists we can match the car to the best suited garage. The people who service a 3.2 Carrera for us aren`t necessarily the optimum choice for a Boxster, 996 or even 997 model 911 and visa versa. It also ensures a qualified third party casts their eye over our cars, if you do your own in house servicing the temptation to turn a blind eye every now and again must be strong. As for using one of the "motoring organisations" to "inspect" all the cars on your forecourt, please - we`ve seen them struggle to check the oil in a 911 properly, as for even finding the engine in a Boxster...... no, we leave it to the specialists. That said we pride ourselves on our technical knowledge and for a car salesman our noble leader wouldn`t make a bad techie !

If you want to know where to get your Porsche fixed then these non franchised people may be of some use. We haven`t used them all but where we have we`ve included a few comments. If you have had experience of any other chaps then let us know and we will let the rest of the world know. As with all things make your own minds up with them, for every one who sings praises there will be someone else who moans, we don`t judge, we just pass on the info !!

Speak to Steve the main man - just don`t get on the subject of racing knackered old green 911`s or you`ll be there for ever !  As well as servicing road cars they also prepare a lot of the cars raced in both the Porsche Classic and Porsche open (our noble leader`s car included), they also ran a 996 GT3 in the Carrera Cup championship.
